Cornwall’s heritage is rich with stories of migration and sanctuary. Once a prehistoric port to the Phonecians – and with a patron saint who arrived here from Ireland - our relationship with migration stretches back for thousands of years.
Harbour will celebrate the stories of sanctuary and the journeys that brought people to Cornwall. Artists unfamiliar with Cornwall will visit for a month – and working with local organisations, they will create a celebratory piece responding to the county’s landscape and identity.
We’ll showcase these pieces in September at our inaugural festival of theatre. And every two years, the performances will come back together to build upon our original stories. Harbour embodies the welcoming spirit of Cornwall – come and discover the stories we’re sharing.
